Why do we want fat loss so bad? What is it about stepping on a scale or looking into a mirror that drives us bonkers? You could blame it on Hollywood movie stars, underwear super models or any number of other marketing ploys but the fact remains that over 90% of Americans are unhappy with at least one aspect of their bodies. And the problem is only getting worse!
Eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia are on the rise as is the quantity of gastric bypass procedures and plastic surgeries. More and more Americans are turning to drastic measures to achieve that ideal body, and yet the number one killer in America is obesity. There are more people with type II diabetes than ever before, heart attacks and strokes claim more lives than vehicle accidents, and new studies show that the number one cause of cancer is fat.
It seems that despite our best efforts, America is killing itself. How is this possible? The main reason is the lack of success from our attempts to lose weight. Most people try to crash diet or over exercise to try to increase the speed of results. This is the wrong way to go. You didn't gain the weight over night so don't expect to lose it overnight. The other problem is that we are ignorant of what it really takes to achieve fat loss. We try what we think should work, instead of seeking the advice of a trained professional. Look, if you had kidney failure, would you try to perform your own dialysis? Of course not. You would go to the hospital and seek the help of a doctor. Trying to lose weight shouldn't be any different.
As a real fat loss expert and fitness professional myself, I see this kind of thing way too often. Thanks to the information age we have way too many self prescribed experts on every subject imaginable. Instead of calling a plumber, we look up how to fix a leaky faucet on the Internet. While this may help with the plumbing, fat loss is a lot more intricate. Too many bad plumbers are on the web when it comes to fitness and fat loss. 9 out of 10 trainers out there really don't know what they are doing, at least not yet. They only have a certification to guide them. They lack the exp. and the know how to really help you.
If you are trying to lose weight, burn fat or get in shape, I urge you to seek the help from a real qualified professional. Don't let anything get in the way of fat loss success. You CAN do it. You ARE worth it. You DO deserve it. Don't let me be the only one who believes in YOU!
